Beginning in 2013: Conduct carefully monitored field tests on transgenic American chestnut trees in order to assess the viability and safety of reintroducing the species to reclaimed surface-mine land in Central Appalachia.

EKO ASSET MANAGEMENT
Commit to: Collaborate with NRDC to launch "NatLab"; Catalyze private capital investments to preserve and restore natural infrastructure in Philadelphia in order to address overflows and runoff from stormwater and improve water quality while stimulating green economic growth.
Through 2056: Underwrite the planting of 50 million trees over 50 years in national forests around the country in order to improve the health of watersheds; In 2012, fund plantings in state parks along with areas in Europe and Canada; In 2013, focus on urban reforestation to assist with forest fires, drought, and other urban issues.
Beginning in 2012: Forming the Latin American Water Funds Partnership in alliance with The Nature Conservancy, the Inter-American Development Brand and the Global Environment Facility to direct $1.1 million USD to create and implement at least three Water Funds in Brazil.

In 2012: Invest in a major forest conservation initiative called "TD Forests" to protect critical forest habitat in the US and Canada; Protect forested areas in the US and Canada equivalent to the paper TD uses (about two football fields of forest every day); Finalize a partnership with a U.S. based nonprofit conservation organization with the goal of protecting forests across TD Bank's Maine to Florida.
